Care and Maintain

Rotala Blood Red is a great choice for both beginner and experienced aquarists as it is moderately easy to care for. To maintain its bright red coloration, moderate to high lighting is required with a color temperature of 6500K-7500K and a PAR of 40-50 µmol/m²/s. Lighting should be provided for 8-10 hours a day to promote healthy growth.

For optimal growth and vibrant coloration, Rotala Blood Red requires slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH range of 6.0-7.5. Soft to moderately hard water with a temperature of 22-28°C is ideal. The addition of CO2 injection can help promote growth and coloration, but it is not necessary.

To keep Rotala Blood Red healthy and looking its best, regular pruning and maintenance are essential. Trim any dead or damaged leaves regularly and remove any debris that may accumulate in the aquarium.
